An initial study showed that FirmGuard saved IT admins an average of 3 hours per week in endpoint management tasks and reduced the number of security incidents by 25%.
Assuming an average salary of $50,000 for IT administrators, the time saved would equate to a cost savings of $2,500 per year per administrator. Additionally, the reduction in security incidents would lead to cost savings related to the mitigation of those incidents.
To design FirmGuard, we used a user-centered design process that involved extensive research, ideation, prototyping, and testing.
We began by conducting user interviews and surveys to understand the needs and pain points of IT administrators. We then used this information to create user personas and user journeys.
We ideated on different design solutions and created wireframes and prototypes that we tested with users. Based on user feedback, we iterated on the designs until we arrived at a final product.
FirmGuard has a clean and modern design that is easy to use and on-brand. I used a color palette that is consistent with the company's branding, and we prioritized legibility and ease of use in the layout and typography.
The platform includes a range of interactions that make it easy for IT administrators to manage and secure endpoints. I designed the navigation system to be intuitive and easy to use, with clear labels and hierarchy. I also included features like drag and drop functionality and multi-select options to streamline workflows and save time.
Throughout the project, I worked closely with the development team and other stakeholders to ensure that the design was feasible and aligned with the product vision. I conducted design reviews and shared design documentation to ensure that everyone was on the same page.
I communicated design decisions and rationale to stakeholders throughout the project, using design documentation, presentations, and demos. I also created help documentation and onboarding materials for end-users to ensure that the platform was easy to understand and use.
